MEMBERSHIP

There shall be four categories of Membership, to be known as
Full Membership,
Associate Membership,
Corporate Membership and
Honorary Membership.

The Membership year shall begin on 1st September and end on the following 31st August.

Full Membership
Full Membership shall be open to all persons who hold a British passport with a valid Kuwaiti residence permit.
New Full Members must be proposed and seconded by not less than two (2) Full Members.

Associate Membership
Associate Membership shall be open to non British passport holders who are deemed by the Board to have a genuine and serious interest in the aims and objectives of the BBF and who can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the Board active interests in British Business.
Holders of British passports who are non-resident in Kuwait may apply to become Associate Members.
New Associate Members must be proposed and seconded by not less than two (2) Full Members.
The admission of new Associate Members shall be suspended when the number of paid up Associate Members reaches one third of the number of paid up Full Members at the end of the previous Membership year. For the purposes of encouraging the objectives of the BBF, the Board can approve the admission of Associate Members in excess of this one third rule at its sole discretion.

Corporate Membership
Corporate Membership shall be open at the sole discretion of the Board to any company or organisation registered in Kuwait or the United Kingdom which has interests in the development of business ties between Kuwait and the United Kingdom.
Corporate Members shall pay a joining fee and an annual membership fee to be set by the Board from time to time.
Each Corporate Member shall nominate a senior member of its management (acceptable to the BBF Board) who is resident in Kuwait to be its Principal Nominee in all matters relating to the BBF.
Each Corporate Member may nominate an Alternate Nominee
Each Corporate Member may also nominate up to three (3) Additional Nominees to join the BBF.

Honorary Membership
Honorary Membership shall be conferred at the sole discretion of the Board on distinguished members of the community who are resident in Kuwait and who demonstrate their commitment to the fulfilment of the BBF’s objectives.
